The blue macaw for this design was photographed by yours truly. Blue macaws are not native to Costa Rica, they are a South American bird. Panama is the only country in Central America where you might spot them in the wild. However, there are a few living in captivity in some of the animal sanctuaries in Costa Rica. I took the image for this design at Natuwa Wildlife Sanctuary where various species of birds live happily and protected near the Guanacaste region of Costa Rica.
